This little thing is called Fitbit. It tracks your body’s motion with accelerometers and when you are within reach of your wifi-basestation, the data will be automatically transfered to your account on the fitbit website, where you can see how many steps you took, how often you woke up during the night, how many colories you burned etc.
Fitbit isn’t available yet, so it’s hard to tell how accurate the data is, but if it comes close to what they claim, it’s an amazing product. I’m sure that a comfortable, easy way to give people data on their behaviour, can actually change their behaviour. A daily graph is probably more motivating than a personal fitness coach.
